Shiatsu is a Japanese massage that supports and strengthens the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself by applying comfortable pressure to points across the body. This technique releases and balances the flow of energy (chi) at points where it has become blocked or over stimulated. It is a deeply relaxing and restorative treatment, which promotes health and well being.
A session takes place on a padded mat at floor level and lasts approximately one hour. The client remains fully clothed in loose, warm clothing.
Carine became interested in Shiatsu in the early nineties when she started having Shiatsu treatments herself. Her Shiatsu practitioner ran an evening course to enable people to give Shiatsu to family and friends. Carine joined this group and has enjoyed giving Shiatsu treatments ever since.
In 2013, she had the opportunity to take her Shiatsu studies further at the Bristol School of Shiatsu. She qualified in 2016 after studying Shiatsu for three years. Carine is a fully insured and registered member of the Shiatsu Society. She also works from her treatment room at her home address in St. Dominick.
